Undergraduate Programs

Computer science is the study of computational systems, including the design and development of software systems, the architecture of computers, the theoretical foundations of computing, and the application of computing to other disciplines. With recent rapid advances in hardware and software technology, computer science has become one of the most exciting and dynamic research areas and one that seems set to affect the lives of everyone.

The Department of Computer Science at SUNY Korea is one of the forces helping to advance the future of technology. We offer an undergraduate program, Computer Science (CSE), leading to a bachelor of science degree. The program has an excellent reputation, and in the most recent Gourman report of undergraduate computer science programs Stony Brook was ranked 15th in the nation and second in New York State.

In recognition of the increased importance of an international educational experience for students, the Department of Computer Science provides a study in the USA program where all students spend a year on the Stony Brook University campus and fulfill parts of their curriculum there.

We also offer:

  • Minor in Computer Science and
  • Joint BS/MS program in Computer Science

Our Computer Science (Bachelor of Science) program is accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC) of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), http://www.abet.org. Note that Stony Brook University's Computer Science (Bachelor of Science) program is also accredited by the same commission of ABET.
